My Favorites Little Ones of 2007

That is, I THINK these are my favorite little ones of 2007. I had a really hard time choosing . . . how great is that??? To have so many pictures that I'm proud of is very exciting to me. Some of these pictures aren't really great photography, but they are my favorites because of the emotion that wells up in me when I remember my time spent with that precious child. Others are my favorites because it never ceases to amaze me that I can make a camera capture such beauty. With all of these pictures, I look at them and see soul. To ask a child to show me his soul and then see it appear on camera is such an amazing gift that I absolutely treasure.

Please know that if I took pictures of you in 2007 and images from your shoot do not appear in my favorites, that it certainly does not mean that I didn't adore the pictures I took for you. As I looked back over the year of photos, I took great pride in what I was able to accomplish and the growth I encountered. Each photo shoot seemed to get better and better . . . always a good sign!

In every photographer's life, there are some photo shoots where everything just clicks and what seems like perfection occurs. Those moments are a victory and from those moments, I offer you my favorites . . .

That was WAY too hard!!! I think I'm going to have to go with number 4 though. It just sticks out to me. They are all so beautiful. Way to be a good photographer. :)

I know I should vote for my own kids because I love your pics of them SOOOO much! In fact your pictures brought some of the grandmothers to tears this year for Christmas!

I have to vote for number 2 because it is just so striking and hilarious!!!

Of course numbers 1, 10, 17, 20 are a very very very close second!

It's just an honor to have made the top 20... I would like to thank everyone who helped make this moment possible... my mother, my father, the hollywood foreign press...
No, seriously, these pictures are phenomenal...

Martha votes 2, I vote 19.

They are all so incredibly beautiful! Will I just be a heel if I vote for my own child? I think they all deserve top honors, but I just want to speak from a personal standpoint and say #4 is my all time favorite photo of "Mogli" which may seem crazy to someone if you described it as not even being able to see her face. But every time I look at it, I smile through tears. Because I know that those thrown up hands and running feet were an expression of pure joy at seeing a fountain like that for the first time in her life and wanting to explore it. Because I know, that just like all of us, my precious child will experience things in life like sadness, disappointment, hurt, rejection,....many things that will change her, and not neccesarily for the bad,........ but those moments like the one you captured in that photo, the moments of pure innocense and "un-messed around with" happiness, may be few and far between. I thank you for giving me that treasure. I love you! Shannon

I've enjoyed your pictures of beautiful children over the last year that I've been reading your blog. I hope that you get to photograph my grandchildren, your Kappa sister Lauren P's kids sometime. My favorite is the wonderment in #19 (though #2 always makes me smile and #9 is picutre perfect beautiful)

I vote for #11. It's the perfect picture of anticipation.

I have procrastinated LONG enough.....#16 is by far my favorite!!!

That moment in time - when a parent (in this case the Dad) can hold his precious one's smiling, contented face in his hands. It makes my heart think of how I hope to be in my relationship with my heavenly Father.

I can't choose! Can I vote for all my favorites under different names? Ha! I have a hard time choosing between #2, #11, & #17. #2 is just so sweet and precious; #11 is almost antique-looking...so beautiful!! And #17 is just too cute of those little girls being so curious. But, since I have to vote for just ONE, I'll go with #11. Love them ALL!!

I love all the pictures, but I have to vote for #11.

#11 and #19, guess I have a thing for doors! If I have to pick one I will pick 19, love the lighting, the great color and the sweet expression. Weird choice considering it's about the only kid on here that I don't know personally.
Don't wait too long on April, she's a bit indecisive...note the 3 birth announcements posted on her blog! Love you April!

Seriously, it was really hard to decide. They are all so good. For some reason, I kept going back to #6. You seem to have captured pure joy!

i should just let betsy vote for me..i usually let her make the final decision on choices of photos anyway. ;) i'm leaning towards #3 and #19 because of all the color and the lighting. (i love the pink shoes!) and it's the same kid...so the same parent wins. ;)

Ok, I have to come back and vote again (since you said it would be ok!)

My second favorite is #17. I love seeing pictures of my girls together doing something together.

What a sweet moment, on a sweet rainy day. Thank you so much for capturing this moment (and other precious ones) for me!

I think I'll go with #19. That one has always stood out to me. Such a wonderful photographer. We wish we lived closer to you for you to capture those moments with our kids.

After much debate, I'll go with #4. Now after reading the other comments, I see that even though I've never met her or even know what was going on durning that shoot, I see the same thing #4's mama saw! Now THAT is talent, Robyn! I'm glad God chose you to help us see the joy he gave us when we were little and wants us to have long after we grow up.

PS: 14 is my other favorite!

Boo to Vernon!!!! While #19 is totally beautiful and might even get my vote if #14 wasn't available, I cannot believe Uncle Vernon failed to vote for #14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think #14 is hilarious and truly captures some personality! It gets my vote.

I can't believe I found your blog, Robyn, these pics are all outstanding, but if I may vote, I love #14. You are a terrific photographer. I am coming back to your sight and look more. Lesley M.

Of course, as a mother, my vote is for #14! It is so "Avery"! She is such a ham, and is very confident and comfortable in who she is and this captures it perfectly. All the pictures are incredible though. If my child wasn't in the running, I would have a very hard time choosing! You definitely have an amazing gift!

#11 gets my vote for being a classic beauty

Robyn - Lynsey told me how to check out this fantastic blog! I love it and look forward to more fantastic pictures in the future. :) I vote for #16 - although they are all gorgeous.

I love them all but I do have to vote for #12. I have to vote for that one because that is the face I see every time she crawls up to me and wants me to pick her up. I can't not vote for that one because it melts my heart, but I am the mommy. :)
