A New Camera!!!

I have big news for all of you who are looking to hire me as a photographer . . . this week I upgraded my equipment and that means your final product is going to be that much better!!! Don't get me wrong, great equipment is not the only tool necessary for great photography, but it certainly does help.

My new camera (a Canon 5D) and a new lens (f1.4 50mm) arrived this week and I've enjoyed testing it out in different situations. Wow! This camera is something else! Look at this shot I took at 11 o'clock at night with only the light of a full moon and one hall light in the back of the house. (Yes, I gasped too!)

And, here is a shot of my horribly lit bedroom. The light looks almost dreamy in this pictures, but look at the light in real life and it's nothing I would have ever dreamed of photographing.

And I just love this artsy floral shot from the 50mm lens so I have to add it to the list. It's lovely in my opinion.

Needless to say, I'm in LOVE with the Canon 5D and the new lens. It exceeds all my hopes and expectations (and that's saying a lot!) So, get ready for even more spectacular photos!

Along with new equipment comes some other changes as well. If you have hired me before, you received a book of 4x6 photos from your session along with a CD of the shots taken. From here on out, the book of 4x6 photos is being replaced with a box of 4x6 photos that looks like this . . .

Isn't that fun? For those of you that I photograph outside of the Montgomery area (that would include anywhere I have traveled to of my own free will, but you hired me while I was in town, and that requires me to mail your photos to you rather than have you pick them up), the box of photos is not included in the session fee. If you would like to pay $40 extra, a box of photos will be mailed to you along with your CD. (If I am traveling specifically to take pictures for you, then travel fees would apply as well.)

If you're interested in me photograhing your children, family or a special event in your life, leave me a comment with your email address and I will get back to you with a quote regarding pricing.
Here's to happing shooting with the 5D!!!
